I incorporate the company’s core values into my job everyday. I have built my professional reputation on integrity. If our clients and co-workers can not trust us, then our business would not be productive or successful.
I deal with all departments within our operation which makes my position more interactive everyday. I assist the sales team by answering their questions and by doing a good deal of sales myself. I work with the operations team, offering my support, whether it’s promoting “Best Practice”, being a mentor or ensuring a safe work site. As the Assistant General Manager, I am a big support to all of our staff.
As the Assistant General Manager I work on our large clients’ accounts as their main contact at GES. Presently, I manage a large portfolio of shows for one of our key Show Management companies. I have a great team of GES personnel that goes the extra distance to ensure our clients are happy with our work and their show looks great. Teamwork and open communication is the key to our success.
The culture of GES Toronto is similar to that of a family; everyone needs each others’ support to get the job done well. We all pitch in to make the show installation and dismantle as smooth as possible. I always try to check with others and reassure them that things are working fine and that I am there to help. |
In my eleven years here, I have not only built on my skills but added new ones. In the process I have met interesting and supportive people from all over the country and that in turn has expanded my comfort level in dealing with a wide variety of people and management styles. Employees who want to learn, and who aspire to different or higher positions, are encouraged by management to follow through and act on these desires.
