Effective July 1, 2008, certain taxing jurisdictions in Illinois will change their tax rate on sales of general merchandise.
- Chicago – 10.25%
- Cicero – 10.25%
- Rosemont – 10.25%
- Schaumburg – 10%
- River Forest – 9%
- Arlington Heights – 9.75%
- Bedford Park – 9.75%
- Bellwood – 9.75%
- Deerfield – 9.5%
- Elk Grove – 10%
- Hanover Park – 9.5%
In addition, Minnesota will have a 0.25% increase in Sales and Use Tax for Transit Improvement effective July 1, 2008.
- Minneapolis – 7.40%
- St Paul – 7.25%
Please take note of new sales tax rates as of
April 1, 2008:
- Seattle, WA – sales tax increased
from 8.9% to 9%
- Renton, WA – sales tax increased
from 8.9% to 9%
- State of Indiana – sales tax increased
from 6% to 7%
- Chicago – sales tax increased from 9%
to 9.25%

- Maryland – sales tax changed from 5% to 6%
